As promised, I'm doing another bump update! Pregnancy has been amazing the last few weeks because I've felt much better since the first trimester. There are definitely still times where I can't keep food down, but none as bad as they used to be. Since my last update, I've only had morning sickness about 3 times (which is great compared to before) and I have a lot more energy. My headaches are also pretty much gone! Those were by far my worst symptom along with just being very tired all the time. Here's a few other things I'll tell you all about.
Gender: Still unknown! Hopefully we'll find out in two weeks at the next doctor's visit, but we may have to wait until after I'm 20 weeks.
Names: If baby is a girl, we're set on Carmen Jessica Hall. Neal has a family tradition where the child's name starts with the same letter as either the mother or the father depending on the gender. I love Carmen because her name won't get misspelled as often as people misspell mine, and people will also be able to pronounce it but it's not a very popular name. Neal had a niece who unfortunately passed a few years ago, and he always said that if he had a girl, she would take her middle name which is Jessica. I love the name Jessica so it works out perfectly, and I think it's beautiful that we're honoring her life with our little one. If baby is a girl, she'll also have the same initials as me which I think is adorable! If our little one turns out to be a boy, we're still undecided on the name. I love Royce, but Neal isn't in love with it (yet) and he prefers Ryden. Both of us like Riley/Rylee as well, which would be perfect because I could call him Ry for short.
Symptoms: Not many symptoms anymore! Like I said, the morning sickness and headaches have slowly faded away, as well as the fatigue. I do notice that I have to pee a bit more than usual and my tailbone hurts horribly. My gums continue to bleed too which is really gross. I've scheduled a dentist appointment for next week just to make sure it's a normal symptom and not gingivitis or anything worse!
Bump: Slowly and slowly getting bigger! When I wear shift dresses, you can't really see it. But when I wear a tighter fitting bodycon dress, you can definitely tell I'm pregnant. I actually had a guy on CTA ask if I was pregnant and I got so excited because people can finally see the bump! I also have weird tickles in my stomach that come and go and I believe they're kicks... I heard that some people can feel them early between 12-15 weeks, so maybe it is my baby kicking!
Baby shower: Yes, I'm already planning! I'm aiming towards end of September since I'm worried about going too close to my actual due date since one of my friends recently had her baby and popped the little guy out more than a month early! I want to be comfortable and able to play games and chat during the shower so I'm doing it right at the beginning of my third trimester and around my birthday. I want to get the invitations out 6-8 week in advance so my busy Chicago friends and family can make sure they are able to attend. The invitations I want also take about 2 weeks to make and deliver, so I plan on ordering them during July!
Life with me: I'm (hopefully) temporarily in Rockford with my parents. I say hopefully because I would love to head back to Chicago as soon as possible and start school again and work at Kendra Scott. Neal has been very supportive and I'll get to see him soon, plus we have an appointment soon which will be great to experience together. I seriously wouldn't be able to go through this entire journey without him!
That's all I can think of for now! As always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them below or email me! I'm really good at replying fast. I can't wait to do my next update at around 20 weeks!
