Three days until my favorite season begins! Even though I've been counting down, Chicago weather hasn't really been doing the same. It has felt like the beginning of summer the past few weeks! I'm so ready to break out my new Michael Kors booties (very similar pair here) that I got on sale at Burlington a few weeks ago. For some reason, I can't stop looking at shoes trying to think of what I'll be wearing when the weather starts to break...
I love the colors of autumn more than anything. I love the warm tones like burgundy, rust, bronze, olive, and even a hint of some brighter colors like tangerine and marigold. You can also get away with neutral colors like white, black, and grey. Since it is getting colder, you have to ditch the sandals and go with more closed toe options.
The good thing about most of my picks are that they can be worn during other seasons as well. With heavy duty winter boots, you're most likely to just wear those in temperatures 30 degrees and below. With fall boots (riding, booties, and combat style), you can pair them with a skirt, sweater dress, jeans, etc., and not be too hot if you're looking to wear them in the summer or spring. And with heels, well lets be real - the fashion police aren't going to give you a ticket for wearing pointed toe pumps as opposed to single strap heeled sandals. It is important to focus on wearing options that are mostly closed toe because for me personally, if my feet are cold, the rest of my body is, too.
Don't think you have to stick to the usual autumn color palette either - I love wearing different shades of blue and purple during this time as well to spice things up a bit! Speaking of spice... I need a pumpkin spice latte pronto.
